Advantages of BBQ Charcoal

Versatility:

Direct cooking and Indirect cooking are both easily achievable on a charcoal bbq by arranging the charcoal however suits your requirements. Direct heat is ideal for fast cooking when you are short of time or looking for a quick cook solution. Indirect heat however is suitable for slower cooking styles such as for big joints of meat.

Cost:

In terms of fuel costs, a charcoal barbecue is cheaper than gas due to the charcoal being widely available in stores and online, compared to gas which can be harder to source and will cost overall.

Flavour:

Good quality charcoal helps to add more flavor due to an aroma compound called guaiacol that is released from charcoal and wood when burned. This aromatic compound is what gives meat its smoky flavours, something which can’t be achieved with a gas flame.
