When producing our BBQ charcoal, we like to ensure the quality of our products is up to our standards and customers are getting the best product they can.
Burn Tests
Burning our products to see how they perform when used on a BBQ is a good indicator of how good the quality of the charcoal is.
We like to test our full range of products, lighting them and examining them as the burn away, taking note of the burn time, burn temperature and how much ash is produced after the burn is complete.
We have certain targets to adhere to for each individual product and make sure our customers only get charcoal that performs how it should.

Sieving
We like to test sieve our products by hand to ensure that each batch of product has correct granulation (size of pieces of charcoal) and that our products are correctly graded.
This is done to make sure we have a certain percentage of each size of charcoal per bag to align with British standards. These standards are in place so that our customers are getting the correctly sized product when they order from us.

Moisture Tests
Our charcoal is moisture tested to measure the moisture content of each batch and to ensure the charcoal isn’t damp or wet and is dry and ready to use.
Check Weighing
Our bags of charcoal are all weighed by hand and are then check weighed to ensure that they are within the weight range we deem as acceptable for each product, this means that our customers are not sold underweight products and get their moneys worth when purchasing from us.
Approved Suppliers
We get charcoal supplied by South African and Namibian companies that we can trust and that meet our company standards and industry standards under ISO 9001:2015.
We have had partnerships with these suppliers for years and have a strong relationship, helping us to source charcoal in a sustainable way and when we need it. We have assessed and audited all of our suppliers and have seen step by step, how they harvest and create the charcoal that we use within our products.
