Cardiff Aldasorber

Developed in the 1970’s at the Cardiff School of Medicine, the Cardiff Aldasorber is widely used in the Medical and Veterinary Markets throughout the World.

The filter actively scavenges exhaled and waste Halothane gases from the operating theatre environment, thus minimising the effects of long term exposure to Halothane based products.

Performance

The Cardiff Aldasorber in normal clinical conditions will provide between 6 and 18 hours of adsorbative capacity. This is dependent on the gas flow and concentration of organic anaesthetic agent utilised. The exhaustion point is indicated by the weight gain of the unit and should be disposed of after 200 grams of weight gain. The filter actively scavenges exhaled and waste Halothane gases from the operating theatre environment, thus minimising the effects of long-term exposure to Halothane-based products. This innovative device plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both medical staff and patients during surgeries.
