What is FSC Certification?

All the charcoal we buy is 100% FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified meaning our product is made from 100% sustainable materials. FSC defines the FSC 100% with the following statement: “All materials used come from responsibly managed, FSC-certified forests. Products with the FSC 100% label contribute most directly to our mission to ensure thriving forests for all, forever.”

The FSC certification process

FSC complete independent audits and assess the sustainable forest management of our supply chain and charcoal sources before awarding us with an FSC certification. We then have to ensure through our FSC chain of custody that we only used FSC certified charcoal from raw material all the way to our customers. They assess the environmental impact of how our charcoal is harvested and make sure it is overseen by responsible management.

The benefits of FSC

FSC is the most trusted mark due to their rigorous standards for sustainable forestry and is used by companies and brands all over the world for millions of products. By choosing FSC-certified products, our customers are helping to make a difference and play their part in helping care for the forests and people and wildlife that live within them.
